Is there a way to compile Models to source engine files by using hexagon?
like 3ds max can do ? http://www.wunderboy.org/sourceapps.php#max_smd

and why cant i open DXF files exporter from Valve hammer? the dxf files work fine in keyshot 3

    Hexagon does not have an SDK, so I would say not.

    Do you get an error message when you try to import DXF?

    It could be something to do with the length of the folder name, or spaces in it. Try dragging it to the Desktop, or into a temp folder with a much shorter name? If that doesn't work, it may just be in a format that Hex cannot read. Try importing it into another app and re-exporting it again.

    Version 2.5.1.79 is missing a file called "adinit.dat" which is needed to open dxf files.

    I just PMed you a copy. UnRAR it into your hexagon install directory, and you should be good to go.

    That must be on your end. The file is unprotected.

    What OS are you running? In XP you would want to log in with administrator rights.

    When i klik on the Download file to start downloading i get this

    Christ. DAZ gets so ANAL sometimes!!

    You're right. Daz has RAR files blocked from PM.

    Let me try daz's email and see how that works.

    ADD:

    Well, that didn't work well...it says I'm not "authorized" to use email.

    Were you trying to attach it or put a link to the location in the email

    Attah is only meant for image files, formats allowed are jpg, png and gif.

    I tried attaching to a PM. It wouldn't let me use daz's email function at all.

    But all should be well now. He sent me his email in PM, and I sent it to him using my email.

    My question is why doesn't DAZ make the file available to everyone as a download? It's no secret that the file is missing from 2.5.1.79, even though it was included in earlier versions.

    I made a bug report after finding the problem last January. https://bugs.daz3d.com/view.php?id=44998

    It appears even the addition of a missing file to the installer (a file that as been removed for what reason?) is beyond the ability of DAZ.

    But then again, even Bryce does not ship with correct files.

    I can not open or import wavefront files. i used to be able to. i export out of carrara as a object and try to import or open in hex and i get a empty window. would this file help with that? thanx
