which came first, pink panther, or Inspectre Clue-zoh, or snagglepuss (exit, stage left) ?

The Pink Panther was the name of the jewel thief (or maybe the jewel, or both) in the first Inspector Clouseau film, and the cartoon character was used in the titles. That was in 1963 apparently (as old as the Doctor and I) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IjzP90TgMA

ahzo. i missed being born in '63 by 31+19 days and 2 hours. was destined to be born a pisces.

The Pink Panther was the Jewel I believe.
Yep. The jewel thief was known as "The Phantom". His calling card was a single glove with the initial "P" embroidered on it.
Blake Edwards, the Director and co-writer of most of the "Pink Panther" series of films never intended to connect a movie series with the name "Pink Panther", or even with Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau as the common factor. This is obvious when you consider the second Inspector Clouseau film is titled "A Shot In The Dark", and the Pink Panther cartoon character makes no appearance in the credits of that film (and Clouseau became the protagonist of "A Shot In The Dark" only after the success of the first film).
However, due to audience confusion after the second film's release. all the subsequent releases had "Pink Panther" in the title and the cartoon character in the credits to provide continuity for the fans of Peter Sellers as Clouseau.
And yes, I know way too much about this. : )

Yeah, one of my favorite running gags in the series was the way people who were French couldn't understand him with his "French" accent. ("Do you have a licence for your minkey? "My minkey?" "Yes, your pet minkey!" "Oh, my monkey.")

Good morning! Only one complaint - it's supposed to hit 106f here today! (gaaah face) Baked loach for dinner!!

I have some extra content money so I have to decide what to get.. argh.. shaders, props, what? (confuzzled face)

    Coffeeeeeeeeeee..

    misread shaders as steaks. :)

Steak would be nice for dinner, but I'll end up having sausage and cheese.. still OK. No cake though.

I might brave the heat for a cheese enchilada plate!

Finally emptied my RDNA wishlist, whew! And got some more shaders.. extra money all gone.

(Robert Mitchum voice) "Beef. It's What's For Dinner."

Dead Cow On A Plate! (evil grin)

Cheese enchiladas, beans, and Spanish rice for lunch! Wheeee!

    Afternoon complaints!

Stuffed and feeling bloated - the enchilada plate was more filling than I recall and I had to loosen my bet a notch to be able to not feel squished.

Hot hot, got - 95f and getting hotter, the sun is super-bright, and it's going to be another sweat-drenched trip home tonight.

Out of cold beer to drink when I arrive home, sigh. Oh well.

Sleepy too. Didn't sleep well last night, so.. snnzzzzzzz..

I wonder if I should get the new T-Rex from Rendo? Olaf would definitely call it a giant chicken.

Olaf and the Giant Chicken, a Mock Epic Poem: Part One

    Olaf, shamed and driven forth
    Started hiking further North
    Seeking a mead-hall brightly lit
Where he could drink and throw a fit
Forced from village, with great dislike
    Caused by rampaging kilometer-long pike
Olaf carried but his axe and his gold
Everything else had ended up sold
Massive debts he had to pay
To all the villagers blown away.

Rumors they came to Olafs ears
Of villagers with some horrible fears
An evil beast with razor claw
That clucked as it would fill it maw
    On peasants, nobles, warriors brave
It seemed that nothing they tried would save
The victims from becoming a dinner
Olaf thought "I could be the winner"
So onward through the snow he went
On fame and fortune, all thought was bent.

    Olaf chased the rumors around
The village was nowhere to be found
He searched all Finland, Norway too
But there was little he could do
Then word came to him of shield-maiden fair
Who had gotten a powerful scare
From beaked monster in village gone
    So Olaf got himself along
Thinking shield-maiden could lead the way
And Olaf could then win the day.

To deepest Russia did Olaf go
    Braving bear and deepening snow
To fabled Vadistok, city of pearl
Did Olaf travel to find the girl
Ask he did, and sought her there
But she had vanished into thin air
"She headed West", one bar-man said
And then he sadly shook his head
"She's seeking vengeance, some do say,
She's quick with a sword, I'd stay away."

    ..to be continued..

101f outside and almost time to go home. It's going to be a long, hot ride.

I'll be stopping for beer and a burger to go on the way, then I'm going to hide from the Big Bright Thing(tm) until tomorrow. Sit, eat, drink, chat online and listen to dance/trance music! A nice, relaxing end to a very stressful day.

Three day week next week! OMG I'm soooooooooooo looking forward to that!

(looks out window at third day of intermittent thundershowers)

At least you have a Big Bright Thing(tm) to hide from...

And I've got all of next week off!

We need he rain, send it here! We're in a drought...
...will try my best, getting a bit tired of it hanging around here. I need some real summer.

It's days like this where I question my relocation from California to Texas! I'd never move BACK to California, but maybe Portland or Seattle.

    I like the rain! (smile)

Any sleepier and I'm going to risk a cup of late afternoon coffee.. ugh.

Sigh.. Barbarian Warlord for Genesis was on sale, and I need something for Olaf to wear as he fights things he should never have to deal with, so.. I bought it.

Posted Olafs new adventure on Red Room in my blog. I'm going to simul-post here and there, to get more exposure for my personal brand of insanity.

Re-downloaded Noggins Chicken and Axes of Power to make sure they're loaded and ready. But this weekend it's kilometer long pike time, to see if I can get a nice boats-getting-eaten scene going.

I think I'll spend my 4 day 4th.of July mini-vacation writing and rendering, sending out for chicken wings, and listening to music. Sounds like a good break for this old man (lol)! Plus, since I'm fiddling with shaders, d-formers, displacement, refractivity etc. I need to spend a decent amount of time in front of Daz Studio.

    Coooooooooooooooooffffffffffffffffffffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee now..

*thinks way too much about Olaf, shield-maidens, and giant chickens*
