How do I make expressions in DS4.5

Okay I tried saving a Pose Preset and chose ONLY the head of the Genesis figure with Expressions checked. It created a file in my content directory with a little thumbnail but when I restart Daz and attempt to apply the expression nothing happens. The same thing happened with a Pose I tried to make.

Thoughts?

    for expression only, you can check boxes as shown.
    It works for me and does not influence rest of character

    OMG that's brilliant thank you so much! I'm working with lots of tweaks to existing expressions and even plain making my own and I wanted to save them rather than recreating the wheel everytime.
