Need Advice on setting up a door in DS4...

I recently built a prop with a hinged door that I would like to have swing open with a minimum of tweaking or headaches on the part of the user. Can someone point me to a simple tutorial for setting up the door. I would love to set it up so that it will open/close using a dial, but I'm not sure how to do this. Any advice/instruction/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
