Which Is Your Favorite Daz or Poser Dragon

How is everyone one today I am fine. A bit tired because I spent most of last night up till 3:30 hanging out with some family and a Blind Guitarist while simultaneously playing Assassins Creed 3.

I am kind of brain dead today and am trying to finish a new render and I am in need of a Dragon a Winged one preferably. So I wanted to pop in and see which is YOUR Favorite Dragon.

I am going to start with mine. Unfortunately my favorite dragons are not studio compatible but they still look amazing. Swidhelm's Skywyrm and Skywyrm Bull. That thing just looks nasty.

Other two favorites are the Sub Dragon from Daz and the old school Wyvern 2. Mestophales put out his Dragon recently, I have not had a chance to buy it but I really like the look of it. It looks like one of my board game dragons or a dragon statue. I probably should have bought that thing on sale. Oh well maybe over the holidays. Mestophales if you are reading this I would really like to see a nice mount for it.

So again if you have any particular favorites post them here. Also if you have any dragon renders feel free to post them as well.

I like your land dragon, I think someone made some freebie wings for it.

Not for that one - only for the original one from 2001. Unless someone did and I never saw it.

There are actually quite a number of free dragons, wyverns, and wyrms to choose from, though many are rather lower-res than you seem to need up front. And one or two will need Wayback Machine, but are still good. I’ve got almost a dozen distinct dragons in my Runtime now, and I think I got all of them free at one time or another. Most of them are still free. Do you want wings---I see that you do. Two legs? Four legs? No legs? I've got at least one or two of each.

Anyone remember the Dragon Factory figures? It was kind of like a Genesis Dragon but I don't think the tech was ever quite perfected, unfortunately.

Where did you get all those free dragons? Give us some tips, pretty please!

Lessee, the SubDragon came with DS4, the MilDragon2 I got when the 3D Starter Bundle was free a couple of years ago, and I think the Sea Dragon was part of some other bundle, too. Mock's Dragon (small, four legs quadrupedal, wings) and his Flying Lisard (very small, no legs whatever, wings) take a little digging in the 'Rosity Freestuff and his homepage: I think he rearranged the host site since posting them, since they don't necessarily download as straightforwardly as you'd hope. The Sixus1 LR Draconis Rex (large, four legs quadrupedal, wings) is in the Wayback Archives of PoserFreebies.com on p.1 under "Original Figures" and their Water Dragon (large, two legs aft, wings) is on p.3, but both are available. There's a smallish grey wyvern (two-legged dragon with wings) at Fantasy 3D that is mislabeled a "Dragon" (properly, that refers to the four-legged variety, wings or no--the Water Dragon is also properly a Wyvern). There's Valandar's freebie Land Dragon (medium-large, four legs bipedal, in winged and wingless varieties) as downloaded from 'Rosity Freestuff, and a a large legless Wyrm by the maker of A3's "Freija" and "Djinn" costumes. The name escapes me. I even have a cartoony Oriental dragon (small, four legs, no wings) with antlers like a stag.

I hope one of the above fits your bill.

Catamaran's Leafy Sea Dragon and Swamp Dragon (more like a winged hydra) can be found here...

I recently picked up Sixus' Draconis Rex (full version) with my Content Paradise birthday coupon...so I guess that one counts as free...I believe it's now $5..,

Umm...the does the Oriental Dragon you have Eustace, happen to be this one?

    There's this one...it's more of a wyvern.

That's a very good product. 3DMenagerie, aka Bloodsong, is the creator. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's availble anymore

    http://dragonfactory.3dmenagerie.com/

(although it looks like there might be some updates for those who had gotten the package--I've always noticed that there are minor fixes needed for some elements in the DF--I'll have to look at what's been done!!)

The bodies and limbs in DF are a bit low on the poly count and options, so there's rather a limited amount of good figures you can make from them (still, well into the hundreds), but the options for the heads, as well as the numerous combos of teeth, tongues, horns and other "props", are fantastic!! There's about five or six different heads, each with dozens of morphs, the combinations with them, resulting in each base head that can represent tens (if not hundres) of thousands of distinct different dragons.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen much of Bloodsong around here for quite awhile. (of course he might be lurking under one of his many aliases)

That's the one. And that's the dragon I meant by "small grey wyvern", above, too.

I really like the skywing at Content Paradise. He's super cute, and kind of sci-fi looking.

Can the dyn2morph py script be run on Swindhelm's dragon wings in Poser and the saved pz3 opened in Carrara or DAZ? Just wondering?
